How High Should You Mount Your TV?

December 27, 2018

A home without a TV rarely exist anymore, Almost every household has a television in their house. The challenge is where to place your TV with all the different designs and architecture of homes. In this blog, we will show you how to best figure your TV placement,

 The Basic Rule

The are various factors to acknowledge when considering your television viewing experience, including the TV quality and size, and the length from the television to the main viewing location.

But for one of the factors, there is a plain and specific rule: The center of the TV screen should be at the eye level of the viewer.

So the elements that come into action when you are debating the ideal television height consist of the height of the common viewer and the size of the television.

You can measure your TV and do the math, but the optimal midpoint of a television designed mainly for viewers sitting on a couch is commonly about 42 inches above the floor.

A basic guideline for ideal viewing distance from the TV is 2.5 times the diagonal length of TV screen. There are different thoughts on that guideline, and some now recommend a television that is bigger relative to the area in a room. With advanced, high-definition TV's, some favor the viewing distance of 1.5 times the diagonal television length.

The overview of the seated observer is not always the top priority. From time to time the viewing priorities of those standing in the room are advised, while in other occasions the feel and style of the space are commonly the overruling elements.

A TV with a screen midpoint at 60 inches above the floor is ideal for a standing 5-foot-6 adult. If you entertain frequently for sporting events, your company may be standing more often and visiting. At this height, the TV can also be better viewed from other rooms where guests may be gathered.
